We Deserve What We'll Get

There has occurred a straying, that fearfully, seems all together beyond way past gone. We have found ourselves living in a world ruled by the material that makes it up. We have forgotten or neglected to care that everything we see in this world shall be rendered nothing by the vast expanses of time. No metal shall endure. No atom shall be immune to it. Flesh will be forgotten as it returns to dust and then to mist. So many of us Americans live life day after day saying with our lips that Jesus Christ is our Master and Lord, and yet we live lives that are so far away from what He taught us that the divide cannot be properly described. He told us that earthly things would surely lead us to death, and here we are never having craved them more. He told us that wealth would nearly make it impossible for one to reach the Kingdom, and here we are protecting it like it were Holy to us. He told us to take good care of our weak and vulnerable, and here we are hanging them out to dry in numbers that would have made Caligula wonder. Treat each other as I have treated you, and here we are a bunch of bigots, hard heads, and extremists. Jesus Christ came here to correct us and we hung His Image from a tree for all of His trouble. We have had thousands of years to learn what He taught us, and here we are thousands of years past when He walked with us doing what we're doing now. I tell you the truth, we deserve what we'll get. Our Lord is going to set fire to this place and he is going to tend the flames right down to hot coals and then disperse the embers to the four corners of existence, where all creatures of fire will be judged. We have strayed far, and our reckoning will go far beyond what we care to know. May God have mercy on us for what we have become, and may those who truly know rise and take their places amongst the Saints.
