"Conservative"

They say they serve God and that Christ is their Lord
Hung by the necks by invisible chords
Their mouths always running with hard hearted glee
They care very little for a poor boy like me
The art of self serving they apply very well
Blind to the truth that they're heading towards hell
Conserving their power and conserving their wealth
Serving the devil with fury and stealth
A true Child of Christ first tends to the poor
A wolf in sheep's clothing gives the rich even more
Conservative folks sure live by that word
A word from sweet Jesus that not once is heard
We were told to live simply and to learn what we could
To love without limits, so we do what we should
Conservative love is narrow and vain
Aloof to the nightmares, aloof to the pain
They fancy themselves righteous, with morals and grace
Imposing their will when given the space
To care for the needy, well, God can do that
Their righteousness adds up to some shit in a hat
