Sneaking in to the Clubhouse

The ruling class of Iranian society are hell bent on developing a nuclear weapon, and the whole Western world trembles at the thought of it. Why? There are many who would be in favor of preemptive action against Iran to prevent them from obtaining a nuclear weapon. Why? If the Iranians are so intent on having nukes, let them have their nukes. How does Iran joining the nuclear clubhouse change anything about the rules at the clubhouse? They don't, the rules remain the same. If you have nukes, well, you know what happens if you use one. The Iranians have spent decades trying to come up with an atomic bomb, when all the while, the Israelis have been sitting back in the locker room with thermo-nuclear weapons readily available for use at any time. The Iranians are a puzzling bunch there is no doubt, but it is highly unlikely that they are puzzled enough not to understand what would happen to their country if they decided to use nuclear weapons. Persian sands turned to glass and all standing upon it shattered to shards in a million degree breeze, that is what would happen if the Iranians pulled the trigger, and they know it. The Iranians are going to do what the Iranians are going to do and so one day they are going to have themselves a nuclear weapon, and when that day comes, it will be no different than today. The only thing that could make it different is if the West starts a war to prevent it. Then all bets are off and the Hot Gates may become hotter than the center of the Sun... poop
