Quit Smiling News Anchor

In this day and age the stories are serious, and only becoming more so with every passing news cycle. The reaper has run wild, our population has exploded, all the while, the Earth has proven time and again she has not given us her best shot. There are wars everywhere. Famine rules like it never has. One with a creative mind could certainly imagine that the Four Horsemen have come to take their ride. These things being said, why is it that every news person you see on television is sporting a big shinning grin? Quit smiling so much you assholes! Stop it. Prove that there is a human soul in there and look sober and perplexed like the rest of us please. News and entertainment are not the same things. The news does not need big shining grins, the news needs only truth. Entertainment is a collection of bright shinning grins that do not need the truth. Somehow, this great nation has chosen entertainment over truth and there can be little doubt that we are all going to pay a horrible price for our big stupid grins. Kind of makes you wish for a huge honking asteroid that would inevitably make the big bright smiles disappear into the dusty void.
