"Dipped Him in Water"

It was in the fall of the year 2008
Great battles with demons, great battles with fate
A stubborn young soul entered the fray
Put on his knees by God in those days
Losing it all, and then some to boot
Losing his soul right down to the root
Hopeless, and lost, and cut to the bone
Never having been, so far from home
Thank God for the Angels and the things that they do
They took him to a place that his Granny once knew
Rutherwood Church was calling his name
He knew he must go there for control to regain
A man, Brother Gary, came to his aid
Dipped him in water, a foundation laid
From there to regrow back into a man
Seeking the Truth, and taking a stand
It sure didn't hurt when the gatekeepers came
And laid on their hands, and lifted the shame
In that rare moment he prayed for the Word
Many days past, and yes, he has heard
The Secret is a Secret and hard to be told
Finding His Truth is a lot to behold
No longer talking, in the third tense
First person now, I hope this makes sense
Thank you good Reverend, good Doctor, good friend
Oh what a story, a story it's been
I now walk with Knowledge, with much more than most
Your help was key, and you I do toast
The Angels are watching and demon hounds drool
So many humans, playing the fool
Some will be saved with Faith that is blind
True Faith is Knowledge and sees at all times
Jesus our Lord, our Teacher, our Guide
Put on the flesh, and horribly died
All to come down here and share the Good Word
What He could tell us from the Father He heard
What would Christ say of our economy and jobs?
What would He teach of our homeless and snobs?
Would He whine about gas prices all through the day?
Or would He tell us to walk, to walk and to pray?
Part of the Secret that many won't know
Is that Christ lights the fires that continue to grow
He came here to tend them that we might see
Wrath from the sky and wrath from the sea
Not to destroy us or to leave us alone
Only to make us, make us go Home
We're so way far out there, out stuck on a ledge
Christ came to push us, right over the edge
For when you are falling, you might fashion wings
And fly to the Heavens while the angels all sing
Those who can't find it, do so by choice
They'll never hear our Sweet Savior's voice
Men with their riches, their riches and gold
Gave up their wings with the hopes to grow old
Mistaking their grace as a reward from their God
Never, ever knowing over Who that they've trod
Their wealth is a curse because of their greed
With so many hurting, so many in need
Those with so much, and yet, no armor at all
They will learn badly what it is to be small
Christ came with a story, deep and complex
If we so choose we'll all become specks
Good faith is love and good love is works
Only with Knowledge can these be our perks
We are not workers while wearing this flesh
This is our training for the test that is next
Those who will pass are born of the Word
Before the beginning of time their names were heard
All earthly things, they'll leave behind
Joining our Father, our Father in Mind.
