A Republican No More

I was a republican believer all the way, and then with the changing of centuries came a changing in me. George W. Bush came into power on the collective voice of some hanging chads in south Florida. It was then that the wheels in my brain started spinning. I remember my mind set back then, "at least he won't take our guns" is what I thought to myself. And then I thought wait, didn't the American public vote in majority for ole Al Gore? American democracy got real fishy during those days, and though it didn't change me, it got me to thinking. Then September 11, 2001 hung on the calendar's page and with it would come the crashing of many a soul. At the time I had little concern about who's watch the attack had occurred on and more about how we would respond. Under Republican President George W. Bush's leadership our response ensured I was no republican and that their ideals were more of a threat to America that Al Qaeda ever could be. He didn't give a shit about catching or killing Bin Laden and he didn't. One hundred advisers and some Afghan militia was the plan. Yea, it didn't work and off to Pakistan that asshole Bin Laden went to live in a mansion for a decade. It had gone from feeling terribly fishy to being just terribly wrong. Then Iraq. Then fucking Iraq. When that sorry piece of dog shit G.W. committed us to war there, he made a republican hater out of me for all the rest of time I have on this earth. Lies, corruption, tweaked intelligence, war mongering, these are the words that remind me of republicans after Iraq. Every one of them is a sellout bitch who has not the first fucking clue or concern about fiscal restraint or government responsibility. How much has Iraq cost us? How much did republicans bitch about it? That fucking war cost us national treasure that cannot be replaced and they sat on their hands with their heads up G.W.'s stinky ass the whole time. Gutless turds towing the party line instead of doing what is right for their country. You add on tax cuts for the wealthy, an every child left behind law, and the first bailouts of all time, and you get what republicans are; a terrible bunch of assholes, that's what. The real problem rests with the knowledge that democrats aren't much better...shit
