A Quran, or a Life?

The people of Afghanistan certainly are a strange bunch. One copy of the Quran is burnt, more than likely by mistake, and violent riots, murders, and ambushes rock the place all over. Then, a U.S. soldier goes ape shit bananas and guns down an entire neighborhood, and it's received with far more reserve than the burnt Quran. I understand a deep reverence for God and all things holy, but a Quran can be reprinted, a human life cannot. To care more about a holy book than a human life is very puzzling. You would think that they would be far more upset about the mass murder of their women and children, but that is not the case there. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior and I believe with all that is me that His Word is as real as it is represented in the Holy Bible. That being said, if I were to see a man burning the Good Book in the streets I would feel very sorry for him, and quite possibly hurl a strong suggestion his way, but that would be about it. If I were to come across that same man methodically killing the neighborhood, I would probably go bonkers and try to cut his throat with a car key. That is why I cannot understand the people of Afghanistan. Surely God wants us to care more for human life, which we cannot replace, than a holy book in which we can. The day will come when the United States of America will exit the country of Afghanistan, and the Afghani people will be in full control of their own priorities, maybe. Whatever the case, it can only be hoped that they start caring less about a Holy Quran and more about the lives that Good Book is trying to save. Until they can cross that bridge of reason they will exist in a world where wars go to live forever.
